Set an envelope expiration date
Automatically void an envelope if it hasn’t been signed by a specific date
You can set an expiration date when creating an envelope. This is useful for contracts or agreements that must be signed by a certain deadline. If the envelope isn’t signed in time, it will be automatically voided.
To set an expiration before sending:
Start creating a new envelope as usual. Create and send an envelope
After uploading your documents, click the Actions menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Select Set expiration.
Choose your expiration by either:
-
Selecting a date from the calendar, or
-
Picking a time frame from the drop-down (7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days)
Click Save.
To edit the expiration after sending:
Open the envelope from your dashboard.
Click Envelope actions in the top right corner.
Select Edit details.
Update the Expiration date.
Click Save.
Once an expiration date is set, it will appear in the Envelope details panel when viewing the envelope.
If the envelope isn’t completed by the selected date, it will be automatically voided.
